Iowa's Unemployment Rate Drops to 18-Year Low

Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 2.6 percent in July. The state’s jobless rate was 3.1 percent one year ago. The U.S. unemployment rate decreased to 3.9 percent in July.

First Quarter 2018 Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages Released

The first quarter 2018 Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) data has been released. This data is a census of jobs covered by unemployment insurance and is available for Iowa and the 99 counties by sector and subsector. The available data now covers the first quarter of 2011 through the first quarter of 2018.

Iowa's Unemployment Rate Remains at 2.7 Percent

Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remains at 2.7 percent in June. The state’s jobless rate was 3.2 percent one year ago. The U.S. unemployment rate increased to 4.0 percent in June.

Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) in partnership with the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) have agreed to finance a Laborshed Study for one community in every county across the State of Iowa – FREE to local economic development organizations and their partners.
